Dr. Alexander Nesbitt

Following a first-class honours BA in Physiological Sciences and a medical degree, both from the University of Oxford, Alex was awarded an Association of British Neurologists funded fellowship during his higher specialist training in neurology, leading to a PhD in clinical neurosciences from King’s College London. As part of this, he undertook a 4-year clinical research fellowship at the Surrey Sleep Research Centre, and the Sleep Disorders Centre, Guy’s Hospital. He is an expert somnologist, certified with the European Sleep Research Society. He has been a Consultant in Neurology and Sleep Medicine at Guy’s Hospital since 2016. Alex maintains an active research interest, publishing widely in sleep and headache neurology*, reflective of his dual subspecialty sleep and headache expertise. As a recognised authority in circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders and headache, Alex is a highly sought-after expert conference speaker and enjoys teaching on all aspects of sleep and headache neurology.
