Dr. David O’Regan

MBBChir (Cambridge) PhD MRCPsych

Following a first class honours BSc in Physiology at University College Cork (Ireland), and a Wellcome Trust PhD in neuroendocrinology at the University of Edinburgh, David read medicine at the University of Cambridge. He undertook 4 years of specialist training in sleep medicine at University College London Hospitals. He has been a Consultant in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine at Guy’s Hospital since 2016. David holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship at King’s College London, and a MRCPsych Lectureship at University College London. He is the immediate past President of the Sleep Medicine Section at the Royal Society of Medicine. David maintains an active research interest, publishing widely in sleep medicine*. He developed the first group-based talking therapy for NREM Parasomnias. As a recognised authority in insomnia, David is a panel member on several international programmes, including Redefining Education on Sleep Therapy.
